Pokemon UNITE is a MOBA with RPG elements. There’s a deep tactical variation that shows up in the gameplay as well as outside of matches. For your progression to be fast and your gameplay to be interesting, it is important to be disciplined and to perform only the necessary actions. No frills, at least in the early stages of the game.
In this guide, we will tell you:
- how to competently invest earned resources and where to get them;
- what all the tactics you can develop in the game have in common;
- which characters are worth choosing for matches.
Complete the tutorial to get Aeos coins
Aeos coins are needed to buy licenses to use Pokémon in battle and special items to enhance them. Unlike other games that bestow you with resources at the start, Pokemon UNITE gives you a meager initial supply of coins. And earning them will be a problem, too. What to do?
Go through the training! This mode consists of six missions. You get 800 Aeos coins for successfully completing each one. It’s not much, but with gifts and bonuses, you’ll raise enough money to buy your first Pokémon!
How do I find the learning mode? Click on the profile icon in the upper left corner of the screen. A pokedex-style menu will open in front of you. Go to the Practice tab, and then go to Tutorial. Done! Here you’ll find the tasks we talked about above. They’re straightforward, so you’ll get a better idea of how the arena works. And at the same time will train you in managing skills.
Spend your Aeos coins only to buy licenses
So, you’ve completed your training and earned enough coins. It’s time to spend them! Invest resources in Pokémon – buy licenses. You can find them in the Pokemon UNITE in-game store. To get to the store, click on the small cart icon located on the game’s main screen.
You will be taken to the store menu. Press the Enter button and navigate to the license catalog. Here you will see a set of 23 pokémon of different classes. They range in price from 6,000 to 10,000 Aeos coins.
Be careful and don’t be tempted to buy the most expensive pokémon. It’s better to test the ones you like in a trial battle. Go to the Practice tab mentioned above and select Practice Area. Here you can see the abilities of all pokémon in battle against a particular opponent.
Practice Teamwork
The core of any Pokemon UNITE tactic is teamwork. This is an important aspect: without it, you’re unlikely to win. Teammates can have your back in battle, augment your Pokémon’s skills with those of your teammates, or, at the very least, distract your opponents while you farm pokéballs and throw them into rings.
In matches with random allies, anything can happen. You won’t know in advance how any particular player will act. So you have to improvise on the fly. The options here are:
- the team acts great, and then you just play your part;
- the team fails in one direction (e.g. backup), and then you shut it down if no one else does;
- the team fails completely, and then you try to save the match by individual action.
The best way to play Pokemon UNITE – and here it’s similar to all other MOBAs – is to get a team of friends together and play consistent pokemon bindings. This way, you’ll have a better understanding of your role and know your allies’ actions. Coordination will also be your advantage – the ability to communicate with teammates in the course of the match will allow you to avoid trouble and use chances for spectacular actions.
Find Your Pokémon
But first, decide on the lead and supporting roles. Master at least a few, because when playing with random allies you’ll sometimes have to adjust to their choices. This is necessary so that you don’t lose the match. For example, when a team recruits four attacking pokémon without regard to defense, you, as the smartest of the company, should choose the defensive one.
Once you’ve decided on a role, move on to testing Pokémon. Perhaps your favorite attack character will be Pikachu or Venusaurus (aka the evolved Bulbasaur). Try them out in combat, test different skill sets, and choose the right ones. As you discover new pokémon, you should check your initial choices. You may no longer have the enthusiasm to play as your previous heroes due to lack of novelty. This, too, is an important aspect – the more fun you have, the more successful the game is.

They’re not as weak as their license cost levels might suggest. Charizard and Talonflame are good attack heroes. The former has balanced mobility and endurance characteristics. The second has mobility and efficiency.
If you don’t have Blastoise or Slowbro on your team, a less expensive Snorlax can replace them. This large pokémon has maximum stamina, which makes it a good cover for teammates. Don’t rely on its attack power; it has none. Use it to its advantage, and transfer the attacks of the enemies to yourself.
Use Pokemon UNITE codes
Be sure to use working codes for Pokemon Unite, which can be exchanged for licenses, sets, trial cards, battle points cards, and more. Gift codes are sure to help you in the game.
