The Google Play Store and iOS App Store welcome a new free mobile game, The Legend of Neverland, from GameArk Global. It is an open-world MMORPG with multiple servers that are not connected to each other (players in World of Warcraft know them as “reals”). On each such server, you can create one account and up to five characters on it. An interesting feature of The Legend of Neverland is the flexible class system, which does not assign a certain class to a character, but allows you to change the style of play on the fly.
The Legend of Neverland universe is deliberately naive: it is a classic “struggle between good and evil” story, in which the “good” kingdom of Cabala has been destroyed by the “evil” forces of Chaos. Players become the Protectors, who have fought Chaos, but are defeated and put into a coma. The game begins with an awakening, after which the player is introduced to the world of the game by a flower fairy.
The Legend of Neverland is not just an MMORPG; there are elements of other genres as well. The combat system is reminiscent of Hack and Slash (like Diablo), in which it’s most important to skillfully apply abilities, and there are borrowings from gacha games – you have to collect a collection of flower fairies. The flower fairies meet the player at the beginning and accompany him throughout the game, including on the battlefield, where they help out with their abilities.
This beginner’s guide will give you some useful tips, especially at the beginning of the game. We won’t push you to get through the story missions as quickly as possible, but we will tell you how to do it. After all, for many in MMORPGs, it’s important to explore the world and admire its beauties.
Choice of Classes
The Legend of Neverland tries to surprise with its multi-class system – and it succeeds. You’re free to switch between classes… just by changing weapons. There are four classes in The Legend of Neverland:
Gladiator
Wields a sword and does heavy damage in close combat.
Ranger
Wields a bow and does heavy damage in close combat.
Scholar
Masters the elements and controls nature (causing heavy ranged damage).
Craftsman
Wields long-range weapons and explosives (also in ranged combat, as you correctly guessed).
Each class differs in combat style, active and passive abilities, and, of course, available weapons. Active abilities have to be activated manually: click on the icon and select a target (character or area). After this, the ability goes to recharge. Passive abilities work automatically. There is also another type – unique class abilities (in the game they are called Deepen). However, this is more of a performance boost than a spell. Players can level up abilities according to their playing style.
The first three classes are available at the beginning of the game; the Craftsman becomes available only when level 65 is reached.
Flower Fairies
This is the name given to the magical, intelligent flowers that are sent to the aid of humans by their goddess. In fact, she gave them a human form. Each flower fairy finds a human being and serves him faithfully. She grows stronger with her master, gains new abilities, and can change her appearance.
Flower fairies can be enhanced in the following ways:
Leveling up
You can buy special items to raise the level of your fairy and increase its characteristics. The maximum level depends on the rarity: for example, a “good” fairy (Good) has the 20th level and a “great” fairy (Superb) has the 60th level.
Advance
Upgrading to a new rarity not only increases the level ceiling, but also increases a fairy’s characteristics. To increase your fairy’s rarity, you must find a copy with the same rarity.
Formation
You can place two different fairies in a battle squad to use their abilities in battles. If they have the same attribute, you activate a special passive ability (if different, you can’t). It is desirable to select fairies so that this ability works.
Resonance
These are essentially rewards in the form of additional characteristics for the fairy that you get as your Combat Power increases. Here are the enhancements that await your fairy:
- 1st Advance – Attack + 50 (Character reaches 4500 CP)
- 2nd Advance – HP + 2400 (Character reaches 9000 CP)
- 3rd Advance – Attack + 100 (Character reaches 16500 CP)
- 4th Advance – HP + 4800 (Character reaches 24000 CP)
- 5th Advance – Attack + 100 (Character reaches 31500 CP)
- 6th Advance – HP + 4800 and Attack + 100 (Character reaches 39000 CP)
- 7th Advance – HP + 4800 and Attack + 100 (Character reaches 48000 CP)
Linking System
That’s the name of the gacha system in this game through which you get fairies. It’s not as advanced as in games that are entirely dedicated to collecting characters, but here it’s auxiliary, so no complaints. Fairies come in just three different rarities:
- Superb – 2.8% chance of getting one.
- Epic – 11.3% chance of obtaining
- Good – chance of getting 85.8%.
You can summon fairies in different ways on different days of the week. You can get some for free, others for premium currency. There is also a system of rewards; here are some examples:
- Within 10 attempts, you are certain to win Epic (purple) Flower Fairy at least once.
- At least once per 80 attempts, you will win Superb (Orange) Flower Fairy. It will devour summon seed and elemental summon seed summon times. Each time will be recorded separately.
- When a Superb (Orange) Flower Fairy is obtained via Link, the attempt count is reset to zero and the recounting begins.
- On the 30th, 60th, and 100th attempts, you will receive additional item awards. The 100th Link earns you 30 Superb Flower Fairy Fragments (60 Superb Flower Fairy Fragments can be combined into a random Superb Flower Fairy). On the right, you can see specific progress.
Quest System
The quests in The Legend of Neverland are called Quest, and they are, we have to admit, extremely trivial and boring – but you have to do them to get resources. There are several types of quests, marked by colors: for example, the main ones are gold, and the side ones are blue. As a rule, these are give and take, kill so-and-so enemies, talk to so-and-so character, etc. Nothing new.
Because the plot is naive and the quests are monotonous, it’s unlikely you’ll be carried away by the history of this world… but the world itself is huge and beautiful, and the quests help you swing. Moreover, some of the game content only opens at certain stages: the bonding system – after training, and the fourth class, the Inventor – only at level 65.
But that was just a fly in the ointment, and here is a barrel of honey: like in many mobile MMORPGs, The Legend of Neverland has a wonderful option – automated quests. It’s enough to press one button, and your character will perform a chain of simple actions. Apparently, this is why the quests were made so stereotypical.
Second Life
TLoN compensates for the secondary nature of the quest system with another system – a kind of Sims. You can lead a whole separate life inside this MMORPG: mining and cooking, fishing, crafting … and even participating in amateur art! These activities fall into three main categories:
- Gathering
- Producing
- Recreation
Within these large categories are smaller categories (and small categories in general). Here are a few examples:
- Mining. You can mine rare minerals and ores, gradually increasing the level of this ability and discovering new resources.
- Insect Trapping. Quite an unusual activity, don’t you agree? Insects swarm in certain areas, where you can catch them and level up this exciting ability.
- Fishing. Fishing, as opposed to catching insects, is common in MMORPG. The higher the level of this skill, the more fishes you can catch per casting your rod. You need to fish in the next activity on the list.
- Cooking. You can cook a variety of dishes from the ingredients you find in your adventures or buy at the market. Food also has a gameplay effect – it can increase experience, damage, or other characteristics. Cook regularly to increase your skill level and find new recipes.
- Forging. Remember we were just talking about mining? Materials from this trade are just what you need for forging. Forgemakers are highly valued because they create enhancements for equipment.
- Crystal Cultivation. In turn, the materials for this activity are… insects. Don’t ask, that’s the logic of the universe!
The Legend of Neverland will give you quite a few pleasant hours – well, or take them away, depending on how you look at it.
TLoN Codes
Thanks to the list of TLoN codes you can get a lot of rewards and totally free unlockable items that will help you advance in the game. The Legend of Neverland codes are usually provided by the developers of the game themselves. The problem is that most of the time no one knows how long they will last or if they have any limit.
